Monthly R.E.P.O.R.T.S. August

One of my favorite TikTok trends from a year or two ago was the Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.. If you’re not familiar, it’s a way of sharing little life updates, what you’re Reading, Eating, Playing, Obsessing, Recommending, and Treating (hence the acronym). It was such a fun way to peek into other people’s worlds, get new recommendations, and sometimes just feel a little more connected.

I loved it so much that I started doing it myself, and it honestly changed my weeks. Suddenly I was reading more books (everything from fantasy to self-help), trying new workouts, and experimenting with recipes. It gave me a way to pause, notice the little joys, and reflect on what was making life brighter.

So here at The Lavender District, we decided to bring this concept back, but with a twist. Instead of weekly, we’ll be sharing a Monthly R.E.P.O.R.T.S., and we’ve added an “S” at the end for Spotlighting, a chance to share something meaningful from our team that month. It could be a favorite gathering, a new place we tried together, or just something that deserves a little extra love.

Since I was the one who suggested this tradition, I thought I’d kick things off for August. So, here’s what’s been lighting up my month:

Reading.

How to Giggle by Paige DeSorobo and Hannah Berner (yes, the Giggly Squad!).

If you know me, you know I’m a giggler. I even went to their live show in Denver! Now, if you are also a giggler, you also know it wasn’t Paige’s best night… but I still had the best time. So when they released their book, of course, I had to read it!

I’ll be honest, it’s taken me longer to get through because some of it hits close to home. Being in your 20s, figuring out what you’re passionate about, and navigating those messy “in between” years… It’s real. And sometimes when a book touches a nerve, you need to pause and let it sink in. But I can’t recommend it enough, it’s funny, relatable, and yes, it makes you giggle.

Eating.

Homemade pizzas at my parents’ house.

Every Sunday, Logan, Dallas, and I head up to my parents’ place. We play card games, cook, and spend the evening together. My parents recently got a pizza oven, so every week we’ve been testing out new combinations on top of my mom’s homemade dough based on Joy Food Sunshine’s recipe. It’s become one of my favorite little rituals!

Playing.

Fantasy Football, but make it for the girls.

We started a league called Every Woman’s Fantasy and gathered over wine and charcuterie to draft our teams. Now, I can’t say my picks were the most strategic (yes, I picked players based on their jersey colors, whether they’re dating Taylor Swift, or because I thought they were cute), but that’s not really the point.

The best part is the community, laughing with girlfriends, planning our Super Bowl party, and already daydreaming about Taylor Swift performing the halftime show. Oh, and shoutout to my best friend for making the most incredible charcuterie board brought to you by Trader Joe’s.

Obsessing.

My engagement ring (!!).

Yes, you read that right. Logan and I just got engaged! We’re still in that new fiancé bliss, so I promise a full blog about the proposal is coming soon. But for now, let’s just admire this ring.

Logan knew how much I value sustainability and local businesses, so he made both a priority. The diamond was my mom’s (thanks, Amy!), the gemstone is Blue Beryl, Colorado’s state gem, and he worked with a local jeweler, Lux Forge, to bring it to life. It’s more meaningful than I could’ve dreamed.

And yes, the first picture I snapped of it was in the bathroom with my bridesmaids-to-be, after a couple of margaritas. Perfect, right?

RecOMMending.

Nuuly clothing rentals.

We’re all about sustainability here, and I’ve been loving the shift from buying to renting. Instead of purchasing six new outfits for a vacation or special event (that I’ll probably never wear again), I just rent them. It’s fun, practical, and keeps me more mindful about the pieces I do choose to buy for my closet.

I’ve got a family trip to Palisade coming up and already rented my Nuuly box for it. Stay tuned, I’ll share a full breakdown soon!

Treating.

A couple's massage at Hand & Stone.

After getting engaged, Logan and I decided to celebrate with something we’ve been wanting for a while: a massage. We booked an 80-minute couples session, and it was pure relaxation. It also felt like a new tradition, maybe every big milestone or trip as fiancés will come with a celebratory massage. I like the sound of that!

SpotLighting.

Small, meaningful gifts.

This month, our Lavender District team had a sweet moment of reconnection. Life has been a little heavy for some of us, but when we finally got together for our Friday coffee tradition, it felt like a breath of fresh air.

Suzanne surprised us with the most thoughtful gifts: Bjorn Honey, shower tablets, and a little heart to carry with us. It was such a reminder of how much we lean on each other, and how even the smallest gestures can feel so big when they come from the heart.

Why We Share R.E.P.O.R.T.S.

My hope is that these monthly reflections encourage you to pause and notice your own “R.E.P.O.R.T.S.”, the books, meals, moments, and obsessions that make your month meaningful.

Because sometimes it’s not about the big milestones (though an engagement is definitely a big one!). It’s about the little things, the pizza nights, the giggles, the charcuterie boards, the tiny gifts, that add up to a beautiful month.

So, what would be in your August R.E.P.O.R.T.S.?
